A MUTUAL LOVE FOR BIRDS

Health Care and Feeding

All our Conures are DISEASE TESTED negative for Polyomavirus (PVD), Avian Bornavirus (ABV), Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD), Psittacine Beak, and Feather Disease (PBFD), and Chlamydia psittaci. Also, DNA Results are provided. This is extremely important when choosing a lifelong family member. We provide paperwork with every bird we sell.

We guarantee that there are no symptoms of disease or parasites at the time of sale and that our birds are completely healthy. This means that our birds are free of viral infections, pathogenic bacterial infections, fungal infections, and congenital defects.

In addition, any Conure(s) taken fully weaned or hand fed by customers are not qualified for any guarantee once bird(s) leaves our aviary. There are no refund(s), exchange, or another free bird if a customer is unable to take care of an unweaned or fully weaned bird(s) which may also result in death.

We guarantee that, at the time of purchase, the bird(s) being purchased are in good health. All babies have a 7-day full-price replacement guarantee providing the baby is seen by a certified bird-avian veterinarian of your choice within 72 hours of purchase or shipping arrival. If problems are found, at Columbine Aviary discretion; bird(s) will be replaced with one of equal value when one becomes available, or return the purchase price paid for the bird(s).

Care & Feeding

Conures are active birds and need a spacious cage to move about and to accommodate toys. A minimum cage size for a conure is 36 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 24 inches high. Conures generally love to bathe — in their water dish, in the shower with their owner or via a spray bath.

A conure’s diet should include a nutritionally balanced manufactured diet, supplemented with fresh vegetables, fruit and healthy table foods. Conures have busy beaks, which makes Lafeber foods a conure favorite. Lafeber’s Avi-Cakes, Pellet-Berries and Nutri-Berries offer balanced nutrition that appeals to a conure’s chewing needs. A properly cared for conure can live between 20 to 30 years.
